| The
Hall County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated was
chartered March 31, 2001, in Gainesville, Georgia, by 18 sorors who felt
it was time for their community to benefit from the services that the
sisterhood of Delta Sigma Theta had to offer. The efforts to bring
together sorors in the area began several years before the actual
chartering, but in March of 2001 the dreams becoming a chapter became
reality. 
Charter members of the Hall County Alumnae
chapter are Evelyn Brown, Vallorie Coley, Erica Glenn, Roosevetta Johnson,
Deborah Mack, Gloria Maddox, Wanda McRae, Angela Middleton, Gwendolyn
Morris, Arbra Prather, Georgette Riggans, Deborah Rucker, Nell Rucker,
Eleanor Sanders, Tina Sewell, Mary Smith, Genelda Stovall, Annesa
Truesdale, Tracey Wilson.
Presidents of the chapter include
Roosevetta Johnson - 2001 - 2002, Gwendolyn Morris - 2002 - present.
The members of Hall County Alumnae Chapter
actively implement and maintain programs tailored to our specific
community, which are consistent with our National Five-Point Program
Thrust. These thrusts comprise Educational Development, Economic
Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental
Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.
Hall County Alumnae Chapters' projects
include Black History Quiz Bowl, Annual Scholarship Dance, Luggage for
Foster Care, Voter Education, AIDs Awareness kiosk and participation in
the Back to School Round Up sponsored by the Gateway Women's Shelter.
